As part of its reorganisation following the division’s strategy update, Airbus Defence and Space has appointed Jana Rosenmann, Grazia Vittadini, Bernhard Brenner and Peter Weckesser as new Executive Committee members. Airbus Defence and Space has been working in recent months on a functional organisation that lays the foundation for its future competitive set-up. The new organisation focusses on four programme lines: Military Aircraft, Space Systems, CIS (Communications, Intelligence and Security) and Unmanned Aerial Systems. The latter was added as a result of the strategy update and is led by Jana Rosenmann. “We have assembled a strong leadership team that is committed to generating future growth and securing global competitiveness of our defence and space business,” said Dirk Hoke, Chief Executive Officer of Airbus Defence and Space. “I am particularly satisfied that we have been able to diversify and rejuvenate our top management team with these appointments. The expertise, agility and dedication of the new team will help us to focus on and to achieving our strategy objectives.” The Division is putting an increased focus on Engineering, for which Grazia Vittadini has been appointed. With a strong background in chief engineering activities at Airbus, she will oversee all R&D, R&T and CTO activities in the Division. Before her current position, she was Head of Corporate Audit & Forensic, responsible for Airbus’ global audit activities. Bernhard Brenner was appointed new Head of Marketing and Sales. Previously serving as Head of Airbus Defence and Space Intelligence cluster, he brings a lot of customer related and international experience to his new role. To strengthen the division’s digitalisation efforts, Peter Weckesser will serve as Digital Transformation Officer (DTO). Weckesser joins Airbus from Siemens where he helped build the company’s 4.0 strategy and amassed experience in the field of industrial digitalisation. His appointment will be effective 1 April 2017. In recent months, Airbus Defence and Space has undertaken a strategy update with a clear focus on growth after years of consolidation. The strategy’s main pillars are a focus on smarter products, more service based offerings and accelerating digital innovation.
