AAC Clyde Space wins launch service contract for VOLT mission

AAC Clyde Space has won a Launch Service Contract for the VOLT mission from Craft Prospect. The order value is EUR 0.5 M (approx. SEK 6.0 M) for the launch which is planned to take place in Q2 2026.

In June 2024, AAC Clyde Space announced that it had won its first order for a 16U EPIC satellite. The customer, Craft Prospect, has now awarded AAC Clyde Space a Launch Service Contract for the same mission. Craft Prospect Ltd. (CPL) is part of ESA's ARTES Scylight programme.

The satellite will be part of the ESA OPS-SAT VOLT mission which aims to test and evaluate groundbreaking real-time techniques and technologies with a focus on optical and quantum direct to earth communication. Its objective is to demonstrate products and services within a Versatile Optical Laboratory for Telecommunications (VOLT).

"We are thrilled to be part of one of Europe's most innovative and important space missions. The size of the satellite was selected to enable it to carry several payloads and thereby multiplying its efficiency, while also illustrating the strength in our contribution to the mission," says AAC Clyde Space CEO Luis Gomes.
