In recognition of the advances in Ground Segment Innovation and its leading role in Satellite Communications - the inaugural ‘Strategies in Satellite Ground Segment (SSGS)’ conference, held in London from 4-5 September, honored those companies and individuals that are changing the Ground Segment Sector.

The SSGS Awards were presented on the evening of the first day and were enthusiastically embraced by the delegates. There were some amazing entries and those companies that won awards were deserving winners.

Richard Hooper, Publisher Satellite Evolution Group said: “Everybody loves an Award in recognition of the hard work and commitment that goes in to bringing a product or concept to market. The Ground Segment part of the satellite infrastructure is often neglected and does not receive the recognition it deserves. We have now rebalanced that with the introduction of the SSGS Awards.”

Kevin French, Publisher, Talk Satellite said: “The first day of Strategies in Satellite Ground Segment (SSGS) elicited valuable insights and discussions. What a great way to finish off a successful first day by honoring those companies and individuals that make a difference.”

Digital Solution of the Year – Atheras Analytics

Digital Solution of the Year – Atheras Analytics

Multi-Orbit Design Tool has been developed to optimize the design of satellite ground networks for both GEO and multi-orbit constellations, considering weather patterns that are of particular relevance for networks employing higher frequency bands such as Ka-band and Q/V-band.

Conventional approaches to ground network design do not always capture the impact of recent climate change which is why Atheras Analytics uses the most recent five years of actual weather data combined with AI to determine the influence of weather on candidate ground station locations.
