Cobham Satcom has announced that its upgraded TACTICAL TRACKER 2600 is undergoing Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) certification.
The TACTICAL TRACKER range of transportable satellite antennas offers leading multi-orbit and multi-band capabilities combined with easy transportation and set up. When completed, the TACTICAL TRACKER 2600 will become the only X/Y antenna systems permitted to operate on the WGS network, a military satellite communication system operated by the US Space Force.
The WGS certification process, which requires a US government sponsor organization, underscores Cobham Satcom’s longstanding commitment to delivering best-in-class satellite communications solutions for defense and government applications.
Concurrently Cobham Satcom releases significant upgrades to the range of TACTICAL TRACKER products. Ports are down from 14 to just 4, reducing cables and making setup easier, thereby reducing the risk of potential failure. TACTICAL TRACKERS can be assembled in less than 30 minutes, with deployment further simplified by a new app and GUI, as well as interchangeable reflector panels.
“With WGS certification, our TACTICAL TRACKER systems will be ready to provide military forces with dependable connectivity on post,” said Henrik Fyhn, VP, Tacticals and Flat Panels Product Management, Cobham Satcom. “Further, we have focused on simplifying set-up and improving user-friendliness, which minimizes training and ensures communications are always ready fast.”
Packaged in a modular and light-weight form factor with 1.35, 1.65 and 2.60 meter reflectors available, the TACTICAL TRACKER range also offers operational flexibility and is compatible with all frequency bands in Geostationary and Non Geostationary orbits.
“Cobham Satcom has been a trusted supplier of satellite communication terminals to military and government agencies for more than 25 years. Our network performance and tracking algorithms are optimized for mission-critical applications that demand high performance,” adds Fyhn.
