Major General Lars-Olof Corneliusson proposed as new board member in AAC Clyde Space

The Nomination Committee of AAC Clyde Space proposes Major General Lars-Olof Corneliusson as a new member of the Board of Directors, to be elected at the Annual General Meeting on 22 May 2025. With over four decades of experience in defence, security policy, and international assignments, Corneliusson brings valuable expertise that will strengthen the company's strategic focus on security-related space applications.

In a time of growing geopolitical tensions, access to space, as well as secure and reliable space-based data, becomes increasingly vital to defence and governmental sectors worldwide. The Nomination Committee's proposal reflects the company's ambition to play an active role in supporting security through space-based technologies and services.

Major General Corneliusson concluded 44 years of active duty in the Swedish Marines in 2021 and has since remained engaged in defence matters, most recently as a military expert to the Swedish Defence Commission. He has previously held positions such as Director of Intelligence at the European Union Military Staff, Military Advisor to the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Delegate to the Neutral Nations Supervisory Commission in Korea. He has extensive international experience through assignments with NATO, the EU, and the UN. In his previous military roles, Corneliusson also collaborated with Spacemetric, acquired by AAC Clyde Space in 2024, a company specialised in software for managing and analysing geospatial imagery. These capabilities are now part of AAC Clyde Space's growing business in space-based data and intelligence.

"In today's volatile geopolitical landscape, space is not just a frontier, it is an increasingly decisive domain for security. I've had the opportunity to follow AAC Clyde Space's contributions in applied military contexts, and I believe the company now holds a unique position to support the growing demand for space-enabled security solutions across Europe and beyond," says Lars-Olof Corneliusson.

"Lars-Olof brings a unique combination of operational defence experience and international strategic insight. We are since long engaged in space-based security systems, where the single largest user group of our maritime AIS data are coast guards. This need of security systems is growing and so is our engagement in in the sector, the INFLECION programme announced earlier this year is an excellent example of this. With Lars-Olof we are increasing our insight and knowledge base for our investments in the use of space-based data for security and intelligence," says Rolf Hallencreutz, Chairman of the Board and member of the company's Nomination Committee.
