Milrem Robotics and Electro Optic Systems sign agreement to advance combat UGS solutions

Milrem Robotics and Electro Optic Systems (EOS) have entered into a cooperation agreement to jointly develop and integrate advanced unmanned ground systems (UGS) and payloads for military applications.

This agreement, signed at IDEX 2025 in Abu Dhabi, signifies a shared commitment to innovation. By fostering close collaboration, both companies seek to implement new projects, test and experiment with emerging use cases, and enhance the capabilities of their respective products. Both companies seek to provide cutting-edge solutions for defence forces worldwide.

Key areas of focus include a mature integration and productization of EOS’ R400 remote weapon system and Milrem Robotics’ THeMIS unmanned ground vehicle, specifically for a program in the United Arab Emirates, but also its possible deployment in Ukraine and NATO countries.

“This strategic cooperation highlights Milrem Robotics’ and EOS' commitment to advancing unmanned combat technologies and delivering superior solutions for modern battlefield operations,” said Kuldar Väärsi, CEO of Milrem Robotics. “Through continuous development and integration, both companies aim to shape the future of autonomous and remotely operated ground systems for global defence markets,” Väärsi added.

Dr Andreas Schwer, CEO of EOS, said: “EOS remains dedicated to pushing the boundaries of innovation, delivering state-of-the-art remote weapon systems that enhance the effectiveness and safety of UGV operations. Our collaboration with Milrem Robotics brings together proven capabilities, integrating the EOS R400 with the Milrem THeMIS to provide a powerful, field-ready solution. By working together, we strengthen our commitment to supporting key defence initiatives in the UAE and other strategic markets.”

The companies will include monitoring market opportunities for combat UGS across different size categories and collaboratively establishing a joint product roadmap for these systems.
