Oman Broadband Company and ST Engineering’s Urban Solutions business have entered into a landmark cooperation programme to collaborate on smart city initiatives in Oman. Supporting the digital transformation objectives and strategic ambitions of Oman Vision 2040, the collaboration will focus on developing an advanced digital infrastructure that meets future requirements, solutions that improve quality of life for residents and enhance the sustainability of the Sultanate.
Under the Programme, Oman Broadband Company and ST Engineering Urban Solutions will jointly explore and collaborate on smart city initiatives to enhance urban and community development in Oman. Oman Broadband will provide cutting-edge fibre-optic infrastructure to enable digital transformation, while ST Engineering Urban Solutions will contribute its expertise in the areas of smart mobility, smart utilities and smart city operations platforms, to provide integrated smart city solutions that enable urban efficiencies and advance sustainability.
Through this collaboration, Oman Broadband Company aims to enhance its leadership in the telecommunications and digital infrastructure sector, paving the way for a more advanced and sustainable technological future in the Sultanate.
The programme comes as part of the Sultanate’s efforts to support its vital sectors with the latest smart technologies and innovative solutions that will make the Sultanate of Oman a regional hub for technology and knowledge.
Commenting on the Cooperation Programme, Eng.
