Plan-S kicks off 2025 with rapid growth

Plan-S has successfully launched four new satellites for its Connecta IoT Network, marking a dynamic start to 2025. With this achievement, the total number of satellites in the Connecta IoT Network constellation has risen to eight, further solidifying Plan-S’s role as a key player in satellite based IoT communication.

Plan-S, established in July 2021, is at the forefront of satellite and space technology in Türkiye. The launch of these four satellites is the second step in deploying the Connecta IoT Network constellation, which aims to revolutionize IoT connectivity services globally. The satellites were launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base, and the Plan-S team received the first telemetries just after a couple of minutes after the deployment, initiating the commissioning process of the four satellites.

Advancing Global IoT Connectivity

Building on the launch of five test satellites used to develop satellite subsystems and establish flight history, Plan-S now boasts a total of 13 satellites in orbit. The latest four satellites were launched in January 2025 as part of the Transporter-12 mission. These advancements underscore Plan-S’s strategic commitment to expanding its satellite capabilities and delivering reliable IoT communication services on a global scale.

Targeting Global Impact: Connecta IoT Network Satellites

The Connecta IoT Network satellites are designed to meet the needs of various sectors, including agriculture, maritime, water resource management, and energy, as well as providing life-saving solutions during disaster scenarios. Plan-S envisions a future with over 200 satellites in the Connecta IoT Network, enabling seamless IoT connectivity across the globe. With features such as rapid data transmission, low power consumption, competitive costs, and high capacity, Plan-S is positioning itself as a leader in IoT communication.

Plan-S also confirmed that contracts for additional launches in 2025 have already been secured, with negotiations ongoing for future missions, signaling its ambition to scale operations further.

Pioneering Operational Excellence in Space

While the latest satellites share a similar design to their predecessors, they incorporate hardware enhancements, software updates, and other optimizations to boost operational efficiency. These improvements are based on insights gained from earlier test missions, ensuring maximum reliability and performance.

Bringing IoT Connectivity to the World from Space

Plan-S designs and manufactures its satellites in-house and operates a network of ground stations to collect data from IoT devices worldwide. By addressing connectivity gaps in underserved regions, Plan-S aims to foster a more efficient global IoT ecosystem. The new satellites promise reduced revisit times and increased capacity, enabling IoT devices to stay connected in even the most remote locations.

Expanding into Earth Observation

Beyond IoT communication, Plan-S is gearing up for its first Earth Observation satellite under the Observa Constellation project, scheduled for launch in 2025. This initiative will add another dimension to the company’s growing portfolio, showcasing its innovation and commitment to a sustainable, technology-driven future.
